more on Winterfee

The mare line on the dam’s side of Winterfee’s pedigree is an especially traditional line: The founding mare Wally by Gebhard was a product of Heinrich Rosigkeit’s successful breeding farm; she was one of the first founding mares at the successful Gut Schmoel which was affiliated with the Hessian Hausstiftung. She proved to be untiring and willing to perform at the country horse shows as well as during daily work at the farm. With the black stallions Ararad, Thronhüter and Neander, her pedigree joins highly esteemed sires from the camp of refinement stallions. Six of her daughters founded a widely branched dynasty that produced the licensed stallions Waldzauber, Waldgeist, Wie Ibikus and Walzerklang. The branch of Waldschneise by Georgenhorst, to which Winterfee belongs, is deemed the most valuable as far as sport is concerned.
